Activities

Activity Services will provide therapeutic interventions and activities to enhance the residents’ quality of life. These are designed to promote the residents’ physical, mental and psychosocial functioning. The services of this department include recreation treatment services, leisure education services and opportunities for participation in recreation. These activities are a critical adjunct to nursing, medical and rehabilitative services in the total care of the residents.

Activity services through both individual and group activities will allow residents to realize their potential for utilizing their abilities and for meeting their individualized needs and goals. The focus of the department is to facilitate the therapeutic use of activities in an environment as near to what the individual would find in the community as is practical.
